Days Gone Film Adaption In The Works, Sam Heughan Rumoured To Star

Per Deadline, PlayStation Productions is looking to develop a feature-length adaptation of Days Gone from Bend Studios. Following the worldwide success of Uncharted, which had made nearly $402 million worldwide, it makes sense Sony wants to continue working on some of its biggest franchises across various media platforms.

Bend Studios has since moved away from the series with a lot of uncertainty regarding a sequel (according to sources and former devs, Sony didn’t want to invest in a sequel) but that doesn’t mean the series can’t be made into a film. The game stars Deacon St. John, a former member of a motorcycle club who now faces the undead in the Pacific Northwest.

The film is being developed by Sheldon Turner, who wrote X-Men: First Class with Outlander‘s Sam Heughan circling to star as Deacon. It is said that the script from Turner will be a “love ballad to motorcycle movies,” as in-game Deacon’s bike was instrumental in navigating the map.

Jennifer Klein and Turner will produce through their production company, Vendetta Productions. Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan will produce for PlayStation Productions.

Days Gone joins Ghost of Tsushima and Gran Turismo as film adaptations. Sony’s PlayStation Productions is also working on a God of War series from Prime, Twisted Metal at Peacock, a Horizon prequel
