Get A Taste Of Hokkaido With The Ghost of Yōtei-Inspired Tasting Menu At Miku Toronto

PlayStation Canada brought us out to check out the brand-new collaboration between PlayStation, OpenTable, and Chef Kazuki Uchigoshi at Miku Toronto. The Ghost of Yōtei–inspired tasting menu transports the player’s palette to Northern Japan, featuring dishes inspired by Ghost of Yōtei and its characters.

It was a truly remarkable experience – Chef Kazuki Uchigoshi would come out between rounds to discuss the inspirations behind each course with us. We kicked things off with the first course, A New Journey, which was a delicious rice ball wrapped in a bamboo leaf, meant to transport the player back to the time when Atsu was hunting the Yotei Six.

Following up the Fire of Yōtei, the second course was an incredible lamb and Hokkaido beef dish. Hokkaido is well known for a grilled lamb dish that served as the inspiration for this beef, adding in some wagyu beef from Hokkaido to round out the plate.

The main course was the star of the show, a 7-piece sushi course called Atsu & The Yōtei Six. Each piece represents one of the members of the Yōtei Six, with the final being inspired by Atsu herself. Every bite was incredible, including Aburi Crab, Aburi Sanma, Uni on Chips, and more. It paired deliciously well with the Hamaki, the featured cocktail inspired by Atsu’s strength and resolve.

Rounding out the experience is the Embers of Renewal, a Tahitian Vanilla Cheesecake featuring various inclusions inspired by Hokkaido, including pumpkin espuma and Hokkai miso caramel ice cream. It was a light and sweet way to end the tasting menu, leaving the palate happy on the way out.

Overall, the Ghost of Yōtei-inspired tasting course is a delicious way to capture the essence of the game and region in food, bringing fans closer to Japan in a fun and unique way. The experience at Miku is a must for any fans of the game or anyone interested in Japanese cuisine.

The experience takes place from October 6 to 26 at Miku Toronto, and you can book it now on OpenTable.
