Developer Good Feel and publisher Spike Chunsoft will launch Bakeru on September 3, 2024, for Switch and PC. A trailer showcasing enemies and gameplay was revealed today, and it looks like a ton of fun.
Bakeru embarks on a journey across Japan after disaster strikes the country. With Bakeru the Tanuki encountering Sun from the Issun clan, he is caught up in a situation that requires him to bring peace back to the country. To do so, he’ll journey with Sun to free Japan of evil spirits across 47 prefectures.
Bakeru will take on the Festival Troops and restore peace to Japan. You’ll encounter battles with fairy tale heroes and giant robots and use your taiko drum to fight them. Additionally, obtaining a Henge license allows you to use Tanuki’s power to transform into different forms.
Spike Chunsoft says the Western release has new attacks, Hurricane, Spinning Top, and a new enemy, Lantern Boss.
A demo is available on the Nintendo eShop, with a 10 percent discount on Switch and PC.
