Koei Tecmo Games and Team Ninja‘s Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will launch in March 2027.
The sequel to 2023’s Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is set in China in 208 AD and follows the events of its predecessor. With a new protagonist joined by their friend Pang Tong, the pair’s village is devastated when Cao Cao’s forces invade Jing Province. These events lead the protagonist to battle demons that have appeared, and they seek revenge while clearing the way for Liu Bei to stop Cao Cao’s armies. You’ll also join Sun Quan in Jiangdong, where they meet again with Pang Tong to devise a plan to repel Cao Cao as he moves to the Red Cliffs.
A press release says players should expect fast-paced combat that combines attack and defence. You use Insight Skills to evade attacks and also terrain to your advantage. Players will explore “iconic battles from the Three Kingdoms era,” like the Battle of Changban and the Battle of the Red Cliffs.
An Alpha Demo is now available on consoles and PC and lets players experience the opening hours, the character creation system, and online multiplayer. Those who finish the demo earn the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet for the full game.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember launches on March 4, 2027, for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC. It will also be on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
