I can’t remember the last time a full unreleased AAA game leaked online because, according to Eurogamer, that’s precisely what Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is going through. Less than two months before launch, a pre-release build of the game was posted on a well-known torrent website, according to the GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit.
Because of this, Space Marine 2 spoilers are out in the wild. Additionally, footage from the game has been posted on YouTube, with Saber Interactive working to copyright claim the videos and get them taken down, although damage has already been done. The build itself is titled “Build_2024_06_20,” indicating it’s just a little less than a month old, although the game’s exe file date says otherwise, apparently listing a February 24th date.
For those getting the build torrent, it’s reportedly about 75 GB and is fully playable in a pretty good place. Although some notable assets are still missing, as the game was still in development in June, the game has gone gold as of last week. While the Insomniac Games leak was pretty big many months back, that was very early information and looks focused on some of its upcoming games. This is a full-blown pre-released game leak, so you would have to go back ten years, at least, with Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Crysis 2 being two big examples.
