Spike Chunsoft is back with a new trailer for No Sleep for Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files.
The new trailer for the upcoming adventure puzzle game confirms that it will launch on the Switch 2 in addition to the Switch and Steam. The Nintendo Switch 2 version features reduced loading times, improved graphics, and mouse control support.
An escape section has been added alongside the investigation and omnium sections. Each section has a different playable character; as the story progresses, you switch between these characters.
Investigation
In Investigations, you play as Kaname Date, tasked with locating the missing Iris. The narrative progresses through visits to various real-world locations, examining crime scenes, and questioning key witnesses. Date employs the visual enhancement capabilities of his AI-equipped prosthetic left eye, AI-Ball, to uncover crucial clues that may aid in resolving the case.
Somnium
In Somnium, players control Aiba in female humanoid form instead of Kaname Date. Utilizing a device called the “Psync machine, players enter a witness’s dream world to uncover hidden memories and buried truths, but you’ve only got six minutes. The dream world is constructed based on the subject’s personality and memories, suspending the typical laws of reality. Each Somnium adheres to its own distinct set of rules. Barriers known as mental locks restrict access to deeper memories, and players must perform various actions to unlock them.
Escape
In Escape, you play as Iris, trapped in a locked room. The goal is to solve the puzzles scattered around the room and find a way out. You can talk with Kaname Date and Aiba and even receive hints through conversations. By examining the room and its items, you can use them to gather clues to escape. However, some items must be combined to be helpful, as some are not useful by themselves.
No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files launches for the Switch, Switch 2, and PC on July 25.
