LEGO and Nintendo have become big-time friends over the years, but it’s time for one of the pair’s most iconic characters to go mini-figure.
Starting January 1, 2027, and for the first time ever, LEGO Mario and all of his friends will become LEGO Minifigures in eight new sets that celebrate all of the things Mario, “Jump Man,” and his pals have gotten up to in the past four decades.

Why not start where it all began? At 61 pieces, you can build the iconic opening scene to 1985’s Super Mario Bros. Burst forth from a green pipe, stomp a Gomba and collect a coin in this simple and straightforward set.

Well, folks, it’s a great day for racing with LEGO Minifigure Mario. At a rather small 84 pieces, this set offers a lot of opportunity, with Mario, “Race Man,” Mario; his trust kart with shell-launcher; a red and green shell, a banana, a coin and a cone.

Summer may be ending, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still hang ten with LEGO Minifigure Mario, “Swimsuit Man,” Mario. This set features a “Cheep Cheep Beach” tiki bar; a Sidestepper; a surfing setup; a lounge chair setup and a coin box.

While LEGO Minifigure Bowser Jr. is locked in a technical race with Luigi, LEGO Minifigure Bowser is in an all-out brawl with Toad. Bowser and a Gomba are chasing Toad, while a Moo Moo Meadows Cow is just there popping a wheelie for fun.

We started this article with a small, simple and yet iconic set depicting the opening moment of almost every one of Mario’s adventures. So, let’s finish with where they usually end up: LEGO Minifigure Bowser’s Castle. Coming in at 850 pieces, this is the largest of the new kits, and it’s because there’s so much going on.
