Gacha game developer Hoyoverse has announced that Zenless Zone Zero is getting a Steam release and is set to release sometime in Q2 2026, according to the game’s Steam store listing. Alongside that news, the game’s upcoming 2.8 update “New Eridan Sunset” has been officially announced to release on May 6th.
As part of the announcement Hoyoverse is hosting a five day “Steam Advance Testing” for Valve’s version of the gacha game from that Proxies can sign up for from now until May 5th. No official date on when the actual test is scheduled for but the in-game rewards for helping out with testing include 60 Polychromes and 30,000 Dennies. Looking back at Xbox’s Zenless Zone Zero‘s release which launched last June during the game’s 2.0 launch, the same could be in the cards for Zenless Zone Zero’s Steam release with the 3.0 update that’s estimated to drop in mid-June; that’s an assumption on my part though.
As for the much nearer future, we got a trailer for Zenless Zone Zero’s 2.8 update “New Eridan Sunset” that shows off the game’s newest S-rank Ice Anomaly agent, Promeia from the Krampus faction. That’s not all, the update’s other agent is one proxies are familiar with. Similar to Anby in the 1.6 update, her faction mate Billy is getting an S-rank upgrade that gives the resident Super-Sentai adjacent fan a Starlight transformation giving him a motorcycle to do even more damage as both a ride and a weapon to swing at enemies during combat. As part of the update, Lucia and Orphie & Magus are getting limited banner character re-runs for those who missed pulling them.
