Hoyoverse, in a special program livestream this morning, has officially unveiled our first look at Zenless Zone Zero‘s upcoming update. The latest 3.3 version of the company’s ongoing gacha game will be called “Journey to the Sky,” where Proxies enlist the help of Phoenix Reffaella and Severian Lowell as they head to Quietude Isle to travel back to Roscaelifer.
Hoyoverse left Zenless Zone Zero players on a cliffhanger in the last update, with the island in the sky facing an unexpected conflict while Sise/Belle and the gang were on the ground. The last update ended with Phoenix falling from Roscaelifer like a meteorite, and a meeting between her and our fellow proxies was teased as changing their “future forever.” Together, Phoenix and Severian will have to coexist as the Proxy and their guide, while Lindverne reveals the truth behind the three Sunbringers and the Karma Cores within them in the next Chapter of Zenless Zone Zero season 3.
Zenless Zone Zero players looking to pull Phoenix, an S-Rank Fire Anomaly who is a judge and second-in-command of the Krampus Compliance Authority, will have that chance in the first half of the 3.3 update. In the latter half of the update, Severian, an S-Rank Wind Attack Agent and New Eridu Public Security Commissioner, will be available. New agent drops bring new W-engines for each character, with Phoenix getting her S-Rank W-Engine, Plume of Rebirth, and Severian getting his S-Rank W-Engine, Incarcerating Grip, which Proxies can pull during either agent’s availability.
Alongside the agents, they will come with new outfits that players can purchase in the store with monochrome. Phoenix gets two outfits bundled at a limited-time 30 percent discount, while Severian gets his everyday uniform, Solemnly Impeccable. The “Journey to the Sky” update also adds brand-new mech combat gameplay, letting players pilot combat mechs to infiltrate enemy bases in disguise. With that comes a new bevy of events to check out throughout the update. First up is the “Night of Supernatural Tricks” event hosted downtown in Lumina Square.
Proxies who spend their batteries in the HIA Club will discover the brand-new VR game, “Spooky Funhouse Tales,” that will let Zenless Zone Zero players drive various styles of Trickmobiles and scare away uninvited funhouse guests. Event rewards include the final Angels of Delusion outfit, a brand-new A-Rank W-Engine, and new accessories. On other event is Cyber Miracle Healer, on Duty!” that will see proxies once again fix Bangboo that have gone haywire after not-so accidentally eating “toxic” chips.
The final two are the “Trails of the Hobbling Crow” event, which will see Proxies track down the culprit who attacked Crowe, and the “Repair! Drifting Art event that will see Proxies piece together painting fragments that were lost at sea.
Zenless Zone Zero is currently available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS & Android.
