Yuka Kitamura, the composer who’s worked on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Dark Souls 3, Elden Ring, and Bloodborne, has left FromSoftware.
On Twitter, Kitamura revealed that she has decided to leave her studio position and will continue to work as a freelance composer beginning this month.

Kitamura says, “I would like to continue to express myself in game music through various genres of music. I hope you will look forward to my music in the future! I have created a new website.” She then linked fans to her website to stay updated on what she would be working on.
From 2012 – 2014, Kitamura worked on Dark Souls 2 and its expansions and Armored Core: Verdict Day. She then went on to work on Bloodborne and the DLC, The Old Hunters.
Later she would compose the score for Dark Souls 3’s The Ringed City and Ashes of Ariandel.
Her most recent work was on Elden Ring, where it won hundreds of awards from across the globe.
