Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana Announced For the West, Launching on PS4, PS5, and Switch in Early 2025

XSEED Games and Falcom have announced that Ys: The Oath in Felghana is getting an HD remaster in the West. The new version, known as Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, will launch in early 2025 for PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch consoles, according to Gematsu.

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana originally launched in Japan for Switch on April 23rd, 2024, and later released for PS4 and PS5 consoles on May 23rd, 2024. The original version, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, is a remake of Ys III: Wanderers from Ys  (1989), which was released in Japan for PC in 2005, PSP in 2011 and not too long after, was later released in the west. The remaster is not that different from the PC version, but it does add some new features, including voice acting for the game’s protagonist, improved HD visuals, high-quality audio, new art, turbo mode, and multiple soundtracks (original, PC-8801, and X68000).

“Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana follows thrill-seeking protagonist Adol and his blue-haired companion Dogi as they return to Dogi’s homeland of Felghana. The eight years they’ve been away have not been kind to the lands which are now filled with roaming monsters, a newly active volcano, and a greedy new overlord extorting the suffering residents. While Dogi seeks help from his former master, Adol remains to help the locals, only to find himself embroiled in a world of conspiracies and ancient legacies,” a description of the game details.

The 2025 launch of  Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana will also include a physical PS5 limited “Refined Edition,” which includes the game alongside a 14-song soundtrack CD, an acrylic diorama/keychain set, a set of four postcards with art from the game, and a graphic cleaner cloth.

The latest entry in the Ys franchise, Ys X: Nordics for PC, PS5, PS5, and Nintendo Switch launched later last week on October 25th.
