After yesterday’s Super Mario RPG Remake surprise reveal, Yoko Shimomura, one of the most iconic composers in Japan, is returning to score the project.

A tweet from Yoko Shimomura confirmed she was returning to compose the project from Nintendo. “I am in charge of the music for the remake version of Super Mario RPG announced at the Nintendo Direct today,” Shimomura wrote on Twitter.
The famed composer has scored some of the biggest games, including the Kingdom Hearts series, Xenoblade Chronicles, Live A Live, Street Fighter and Final Fantasy 15.

“Originally released on Super NES, Super Mario RPG has been overhauled with new graphics! Join Mario, Bowser, Princess Peach, and original characters Mallow and Geno, in an RPG filled with twists, turns and treasure. Mario must team up with his allies to face down a menacing force known as the Smithy Gang in order to recover seven stars and repair the Star Road. Whether you played the original game or have yet to take the journey, you can dive into this Nintendo Switch version of the very first RPG in the Super Mario series! Super Mario RPG launches for Nintendo Switch on November 17,” the press release says.
