Nintendo revealed Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is available today.
The update is available digitally today on the eShop and My Nintendo Store. The Switch 2 Edition supports up to 4K resolution and up to 60 fps when playing docked, and 1080p and up to 60 fps in handheld mode. The upgrade pack is available for $5 USD or $6.99 CAD.
After an alien invasion forces humanity to abandon Earth, survivors escape aboard massive arks in search of a new home. One such ark, the White Whale, crash-lands on the mysterious planet Mira. Months after the initial settlers begin establishing a foothold, a BLADE operative named Elma discovers the player’s stasis pod. From there, the journey unfolds—integrating into this unfamiliar world, assisting other settlers, growing through new experiences, and uncovering the mysteries surrounding Mira and its inhabitants.
Players can also join swuads with up to 21 other players online and complete a number of tasks, including fetch quests, fighting unique enemies, and more. Up to four player squads can team up to complete special assignments and face bosses.
A physical version of the game will be available at select retailers and online at the My Nintendo Store beginning April 16, 2026.
