We are a little less than two months until Geoff Keighlry’s Summer Games Fest officially kicks off, and Microsoft has announced its annual Xbox Games Showcase will stream on June 8th, according to an Xbox Wire post.
“It all begins with our annual Xbox Games Showcase, bringing you a look at upcoming titles from across our first-party studios and incredible new titles from our third-party partners across the globe. This year, the show will be digital-only – our live stream will bring you everything you’ll need to know about what’s next for Xbox, no matter where in the world you’re watching,” Xbox Wire editor-in-chief Joe Skrebels wrote.
That’s not all, following the conclusion of the Xbox Games Showcase, the live stream will be followed by The Outer Worlds 2 Direct, a move similar to recent Xbox Games Showcase events, which were followed up by a Starfield Direct in 2023 and a Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct in 2024. The last time we saw The Outer Worlds 2 was at the most recent Game Awards, which confirmed a 2025 launch year for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. The direct presentation will presumably serve as a deeper dive into the game’s mechanics and story, alongside a date when players can pick up Obsidian’s second 2025 game later this year.
This year’s Xbox Games Showcase and The Outer Worlds 2 Direct will be presented in over 40 languages, including American Sign Language, British Sign Language and English Audio Descriptions which will all stream on Xbox’s YouTube, Twitch, Twitch ASL, and Facebook channels on June 8th at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.
