Microsoft has announced the Xbox Elite 2 Core controller and it will be a bit less expensive than the Xbox Elite 2. Coming in at $50 dollars less than its older brother, the Core features fewer interchangeable components but worry not, you can pick those up separately.
The Core includes adjustable-tension thumbsticks, wrap-around rubberized grip, and shorter hair trigger locks. Retailing for $129 US or $170 CAD, the Core is a controller made to be more accessible.
Furthermore, the Core also leaves behind a carrying case, rear paddles, and additional thumbsticks. If you decide in the future you want these components then it’ll be an additional $60 US or $79 CAD. This includes all the below:
- Carrying case
- Charging dock
- Classic thumbsticks (2)
- Tall thumbstick (1)
- Dome thumbstick (1)
- Cross-shaped D-pad (1)
- Set of four paddles: medium (2), mini (2)
- USB-C cable
If you prefer the current Xbox Elite 2 controller, it is still available and has been added to the Xbox Design Lab.
