Microsoft’s Edge browser just got a new feature that’ll make streaming your games even better.
Xbox has revealed a new feature for players that want to stream their library. Clarity Boost allows players the option of enhancing optimization for their streamed games using a “client-side scaling improvement.” While the newest feature is currently not widely available, the feature is likely to go live in 2022.
To use Clarity Boose, download Microsoft Edge Canary, then log in to the Xbox Cloud Gaming site and test it out.
Here’s how you can try it out:
- To confirm you are in Microsoft Edge Canary, navigate to edge://settings/help to make sure you are on version 96.0.1033.0 or later.
- To enable Clarity Boost, go to www.xbox.com/play, login and start a game
- Open the more actions (…) menu
- Select Enable Clarity Boost option.
From spending an hour last night streaming games to my browser, it is indeed a better experience. Games do look better, sharper, and there is a distinct lack of blur that streaming tends to have when in use. If you have no other alternative then you’ll get a lot of enjoyment out of the enhancement.
