Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World

Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World Launches Spring 2021

Previously announced Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is coming later this spring, as ININ Games confirms the remake’s release date today. In Japan, the game will launch on April 11 before heading West later this spring in Q2.

A new trailer features Asha and her blue sidekick Pepelogoo as well as some of the stages you’ll encounter when the game is out later this year. From the looks of it, the developers are packing a ton of content into the remake and it’s certainly a colourful endeavour from them. The team is led by Ryuichi Nishizawa, who worked on Wonder Boy IV. He is supported b Shinichi Sakamoto, who is working on the music and sound effects, and Maki Ōzora for character design and Takanori Kurihara as creative manager.

In Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, Ashai must free the four spirits who are sealed away by evil forces. As she explores the world, she’ll uncover the truth of her enemy and she’ll do so with her companion Pepelogoo. The game is a full remake of Monster World IV, with cell-shaded 3D graphics and 2D gameplay that stays close to the beloved original gameplay as well as enhanced visuals and refined play content. And as a cool thank you, Wonder Boy IV is included in the game as a bonus.
