Women in Games is taking place September 6-18 this year and we’ve now received the details of the Global Festival. The event will be the largest ever virtual event to date and will be free to join.
A first of its kind, the event invites women from all over the games industry around the world to collaborate as a community and provide over a week of entertainment, collaboration and more. The event will begin September 6, 2021, and will be hosted on the Hopin platform as a free event, all you need to do is email this address with the header, “Launch Event.”
The Women in Games Conference will be the major event bringing everyone together with the conference’s goal being “Inspire, Engage, and Educate,” with the four pillars of Community, Industry, Education, and Policy. The event will be broadcast across several time zones, so you can tune in to hear inspirational speakers, fireside chats, panels and more from day one.
“The Women in Games Festival is a hugely important event in the calendar for highlighting gender diversity across games and esports around the world,” said Women in Games CEO Marie-Claire Isaaman. “The Festival is the only one of its kind and is celebrated for bringing women and allies together for two weeks of learning and inspiration. We urge as many individuals and organizations as possible to get involved and look forward to seeing many of you in September.”
Aside from the conference, there will be the Women in Games Jam, a week-long workshop for women learning game development, there will also be an esports tournament taking place over the weekend of September 11 and September 12. Paired with that are tons of satellite events hosted by the Women in Games organization with dozens of “Webinars, Roundtable Discussions, Networking, Wellbeing Sessions, Live-Testing, Open Studio Days, Cosplay, DJs & Entertainment, Virtual Quizzes & Competitions and more.”
