Koei Tecmo has revealed players won’t have to wait long to play the next game from Team Ninja as Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will launch on March 3, 2023.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a dark thriller set in the era of the Three Kingdoms where demons run wild and is a force that the player will have to deal with either a weapon or fantastical powers at their disposal. Players will also have to deal with human enemies too by using sword-like combat that is based on Chinese martial arts that allow players to switch from offensive to defensive positions pretty easily.
Judging from what I played during the PlayStation demo, the game is shaping up nicely while also offering a high level of difficulty. For fans of Soulsbourne titles, this is certainly worth checking out as it offers a Morale system. This system gives every character a Morale level, in essence, a difficulty level. The higher your enemy’s Morale rises, the more difficult they are to defeat. If your Morale is lower, then it relegates the fight to be fair.
Of course, it isn’t as simple as that because levels can rise and fall by defeating important bosses on the map. However, if you die the levels reset and you’ll start again. In another twist, if you lose to an enemy then their Morale level rises on returning to them.
We’ll find out more next year when Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty launches.
