Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Wild Hearts Sold Strong According To Koei Tecmo

With both Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Wild Hearts now out in the wild, Koei Tecmo has revealed that both titles have been reviewed well, going on to hit high sales.

While the exact breakdown wasn’t made available via April 2023 financial report, it should also be mentioned that the early months of 2023 have been slammed with new releases. This is why it feels like both Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Wild Hearts came and went without any lingering buzz.

Notably, Koei Tecmo teamed up with EA to release the Monster Hunter-inspired Wild Hearts. It is set in Azuma, a region directly inspired by feudal Japan filled and divided into different biomes or hunting grounds. Azuma is overrun by the Kemono, giant creatures inspired by Japanese lore who have begun to run rampant.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is set in the Han Dynasty era, and invites players to journey through the universe of the Three Kingdoms in a fictionalized and very dark story.

Both titles are fantastical and offer new franchises to players, while also pulling inspiration from the like of Nioh and Monster Hunter. Both titles played a part in Koei Tecmo’s reported $584.3 million year-over-year revenue, up almost 8 percent from fiscal year 2021. In total, net profits achieved $230.5 million, down 12.5 percent year-over-year from 2021. For unspecific reasons, Koei Tecmo was silent on sales figures for both Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Wild Hearts.

In related news, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key has sold an impressive 290,000 units worldwide. The recent remaster of Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse has sold 120,000 copies since it launched on March 9.
