Co-Op Pirate Survival Game Windrose Swings Into Early Access Next Week

Ahoy maties! Windrose Crew are inviting us all aboard their ship- and land-based co-op survival game Windrose on Tuesday, April 14, on PC in Early Access for a simple one-time booty payment of $42 CDN.

The pirate game formerly known as Crosswinds was a treasured part of the recent Steam Next Fest event, during which more than 850,000 people set sail across the demo, which is still available!

As of writing this, it seems the game’s waters will be full, with a prospective pirate player base of more than 1.5 million people having wishlisted so far.

In Windrose, you can sail the procedurally-generated high seas solo, choosing to pay the solo tax. Or better yet, explore a vast world with friends seemingly full of zombie pirates.

While pirates will have their own unique world to explore, Windrose Crew have made sure there’s a tale of treachery, peril, and riches to be told across more than 90 points of interest, such as dungeons, temples and shipwrecks.

While there is a lot to do in nearly 50 to 70 hours of PvE content, there will also be strong PvP elements, as base assault and ship combat invite players to be their most dastardly selves.

When you need a break, take up farming, fishing, crafting, and trading. Build a reputation by interacting with NPCs, and even hire them for your crew!

Windrose is out in Early Access on Tuesday, April 14, on PC from Steam, Epic Games Store, and STOVE.
