Wildlight Entertainment Opens, Formed By Ex-Respawn Devs

A new studio is ready to emerge and introduce itself to the industry. After being founded in 2022, Wildlight Entertainment is ready for the spotlight as it has enlisted talented creators from across the industry to work on a new shooter IP.

Several staff members worked at Respawn Entertainment before splitting to form Wildlight Entertainment.

The studio’s Team page reveals some of the immense talent including Mohammad Alavi, the lead designer, who worked on Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 & 2, Titanfall 1&2, and Apex Legends. Jason McCorrd, the design director,  and Chad Grenier, the studio head/game director, also worked on Call of Duty, Apex Legends, and Titanfall

“We are a new, fully-funded entertainment studio hyper-focused on creating big, bold, original gaming universes of epic quality and scale. We’ve been quietly working on a new IP for some time, and while it’ll be a bit before we can say more, we’re beyond excited for what’s to come.

We think the team we’re building together is pretty special, and we don’t take that for granted. We bet on each other, and that mutual trust allows us to take risks, foster new ideas, make decisions, and ultimately, make great games.”

Earlier this month, it was revealed EA cancelled a single-player game set in the Titanfall/Apex Legends universe. It was rumoured Alavi was working on the project before departing last year.

Wildlight has offices in Seattle and Los Angeles, with hybrid or full remote work available to employees.
