Wanted: Dead

Wanted: Dead Is All Action, All Zombies

I like to acknowledge hustle and confidence for what they are.

In a video game world of overpromises and the crunch it often leads to, it’s nice to see a studio assertively say it’s going to meet a deadline and add something you weren’t expecting.

So props to Soleil for announcing that their slasher/shooter Wanted: Dead will now launch with last-generation console support. They were seemingly looking at the botched Cyberpunk 2077 decision to launch on past consoles with a far from perfect product and saying we can slash right through that!

Wanted: Dead follows a week in the life of Lt. Hannah Stone of the Zombie Unit, an elite Hong Kong police squad on a mission to uncover a major corporate conspiracy. This is a tale told to us from the minds of some driving forces behind Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive, whose distinct styles really show off in the game’s trailer. Stone plows through mercenaries, gang members and private military contractors in a spectacular cyberpunk arcade visuals full of Sega-seeming NPCs and even a couple really well-animated scenes of sign language.

Wanted: Dead is a game I am keeping my eyes on!
