Square Enix officially revealed the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers during E3 this year with a cinematic trailer but left out any gameplay. Aside from press attending the event, no gameplay was shown – a move that I feel hurt the hype behind the upcoming game from Crystal Dynamics.
Now, during gamescom 2019, we have a full 20 minutes of gameplay. Set during the A-Day prologue the developer previously featured. In the video, we see Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, and Black Widow in action. Each Avenger features their own unique gameplay elements and we see them tackle an invasion in San Francisco. We also see Taskmaster at work, a formidable enemy we’ve recently seen in Marvel’s Spider-Man last year.
Also, according to Square Enix, the game comes with improvements made to the visual fidelity, character models, animations, and more. I’m still on the fence about this game but I have faith in Crystal Dynamics, they’ve been doing extremely well over the years and crafted some excellent gaming moments.
