Valor Mortis

Valor Mortis Gets A Launch Trailer

Valor Mortis is out this week, and Polish developer Lyrical Games appears to think the best way to celebrate is to present us with a slicing launch trailer that boldly proclaims that there’s no reason not to play this game.

Narrated by “The Shrike,” voiced by multi-award-winning voice actor Jennifer English, it also proclaims that some monsters can’t be defeated with blades, bullets, or fire… while player character William Dowsett slices, shoots, and scorches everything in sight. But I think it’s clear the true monsters of Valor Mortis are Napoleon and the people who enabled him.

There’s also some new news. Apart from just launching on October 13 and as a “Day One” Xbox Game Pass selection, it’s also part of a newly revealed Steam bundle with Dishonored, No Rest for the Wicked, Mouse: P.I. For Hire and the Ghostrunner series. It will also receive a “New Game+” mode arriving in Q4.

In Valor Mortis, Napoleon’s conquest of Eastern Europe has unleashed something far more horrifying than war. Play as William, a resurrected soldier of the Grande Armée guided by Napoleon’s disembodied voice, as you traverse ravaged battlefields, sprawling mountains and historical cities consumed by a grotesque plague — the same corruption that pulses through William’s veins and gave him life.

Valor Mortis is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox Game Pass and Steam October 13, 2026.
