Ubisoft will be returning the Avatar universe on console and PC in an upcoming game that is being developed by Massive Entertainment.
If you’re unfamiliar with Massive Entertainment, they are the studio behind the hit video game series, Tom Clancy’s The Division.
Massive is working with James Cameron’s studio Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox Interactive.
“What impressed me about Massive were the group’s passion for this project, and the power of its Snowdrop engine,” Cameron says. “With the power of [Snowdrop], and the team’s passion and obsessive focus on detail, we know they’re the right group to bring the beauty and danger of Pandora to life.”
The Avatar franchise currently has four sequels in development, creating an opportunity to tap into the ever-growing mythology of Cameron’s series. No plot points have been revealed and a release is surely far off.
