Ubisoft May Have New Assassin’s Creed Game in the Works

We know Ubisoft is working on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s second year of content as well as on Assassin’s Creed Infinity, a live service title. However, what about a game in-between these releases to give fans something to keep them busy?

Per Bloomberg, Ubisoft has shifted development on an Assassin’s Creed expansion into a stand-alone title, according to sources familiar with the project. What we know is that game, codenamed Rift, switched into a full title last year after originally being designed as an expansion for Valhalla. This new expansion stars Basim, one of the Hidden Ones Eivor meets early on and is smaller in scope from the recent trilogy of games. Instead of an open-world RPG, the game focuses on stealth gameplay and would launch in late 2022/early 2023.

Since launching in 2007, the Assassin’s Creed series has sold more than 155 million units. This rumoured title would arrive in the time before Infinity is set to launch.
