The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azur Is Launching On March 14 2023
The Finale to the Crossbell Duology Arc is Finally Heading to the West
NIS America has released a story trailer for The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure which revealed that the conclusion to the Crossbell duology arc will release on March 18th, 2023 in North America. When the game releases, it will officially mark that all the main games in the series’ first three arcs – Liberal (Trails in the Sky), Crossbell (Trails from Zero/to Azure), and Ereboinia (Trails from Cold Steel) will be all officially accessible in English for western fans and newcomers alike to play.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is the direct sequel to Trails from Zerowhich we reviewed last month and takes place a couple of months after the ending of the first game. Since then Crossbell Police Department’s Special Support Section under Lloyd Bannings’ leadership has gained some new recruits that players from the first game will find familiar during a time when the city-state of Crossbell declares its independence from the Ereboinia Empire and the Calvard Republic. The game is set to follow up on some loose ends that were revealed in Zero and possibly more in the upcoming Nihon JRPG.
Just like its predecessor, The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure hasn’t gotten an official release in the last decade for western audiences but thankfully that’s going to change. Trails to Azure was originally released in Japan in 2011 on PSP and NIS America will be using Geofront’s fan translation as the foundation of its own localization similar to Trails from Zero.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is set to release in North America on March 14th, 2023 for PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, European players will have to wait a little longer as the game is releasing on March 17th, 2023 with Oceanic players getting the game on March 24th, 2023.
