It looks like we got a bit more information on the next TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge DLC, Dimension Shellshock, with the announcement that the new content release will come packed with a new feature, Survival Mode, which the PlayStation Blog shows off in a big way in an 11-minute look at the gameplay of the new mode.
Anyone who picked up TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge can look forward to Survival Mode and its intriguing additions, as the new mode will see players level up as they progress through the DLC’s dimension levels. Throughout a single run, you will collect coloured crystals, which will come important later on in your “Survival” in the mode because if you happen to die and you have enough of the mode’s collectables, then you will be granted an extra life to get back into the action. Players are limited to extra life as you can unlock ninja power bars, Radical Mode, and extra hit points.
Dimension Shellshock was previously announced last month and will see the game’s cast of characters the ability to hop through dimensions thanks to those crystals and where they’ll attempt to take out hordes of enemies; Dimension Shellshock indeed. Publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games are going the extra mile by making each dimension set have its own unique look and feel. Some of the Survival mode’s dimensions that players will jump into include the Edo dimension (inspired by Japan), the four Turtles in nostalgic 8-bit backgrounds, Splinter, Casey, April, and Usagi in Omnichannel 6, and more
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices; no date has been slated for the game’s Dimension Shellshock DLC but it is set to arrive sometime “later this year.”
