Dotemu and Tribute Games’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has launched on iOS and Android via Netflix. For those with an active subscription, the game is live now and features the full game and online features found on its console counterpart.
I was able to sign in to Netflix, locate the game, and boot it up within two minutes. The port on mobile is incredible from what I’ve played so far, spending the last hour fighting the Foot Clan and Shredder’s dopey goons across New York City.
I was worried the touch controls would be a deterrent to enjoying my time revisiting TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge but it’s a lot better than I expected. I’m on an iPhone 14 Pro Max so yes, I have more real estate but I can see the game on an iPhone SE is more than capable and enough to enjoy the full game.
I haven’t tested online capabilities just yet but they are available from the get-go so gather up some friends (or play with some strangers) and kick some shells.
While Netflix’s current offerings are dreary and I find it hard to invest time on a platform where cancellation is always on the table for the shows I enjoy, the commitment to video games has been impressive so far.
If only they didn’t test my patience with account sharing and not charge me for 4K when no one else does, I’d sooner recommend the service.
