Dotemu and Tribute Games are working on an expansion for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Much to my surprise, it’s a pretty exciting update as the brawler is adding a new character that fans of the series know well.
While it isn’t the most surprising addition to Dimension Shellshock, the newly announced expansion, making Usagi Yojima a playable character, is the most welcome addition to the roster.
The rabbit samurai is not the only new addition to Dimension Shellshock, as we’re receiving a new game mode, new colour schemes for fighters, and new music from Tee Lopes. Tribute Games says they’ll detail the rest later, but it’s certainly nice knowing this is what players can expect from the studio in the coming months.
If you’re wondering how much the expansion will cost, it’ll be free; as Tribute Games mentions, this was all made possible by the fans and the reception.
In our review, I said, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge lives up to the classic arcade game, so whether the community will answer the call of the Turtles and enjoy all that Tribute Games and Dotemu have to offer remains to be seen. After playing and completing the game several times, I’m looking at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade cabinet where I can continue to fight the Foot. After years of the Turtles being out of the spotlight, it’s invigorating to see the heroes in a half-shell return to what they do best.”
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Switch, iOS, Android, and PC.
