After a tumultuous few months for Naughty Dog, which includes their biggest game to date having been leaked and delayed indefinitely due to the pandemic, things are finally looking up.
In a video post today, The Last of Us Part II Director Neil Druckmann let everyone know that the game has gone gold. This means that the game is finished and is out for production, with discs being pressed and the game making its way online to the PlayStation Network for pre-load. There will be no more delays as the game is now six weeks away.
In the video, Druckmann also specifically mentions the Naughty Dog development team for all their hard work. After several delays, leaks, and hardships, I feel the team deserves a lengthy break and all the good karma in the world. Or less crunch time, if you’re aware of the culture surrouding the studio.
