The Last of Us Part 1 Footage Has Leaked Online

Over Six Minutes in Three Nostalgic Segments of the Game

Look like history is repeating itself once again as it did in 2020, over six minutes of  The Last of Us Part 1 PS5 gameplay has leaked online from XboxEra co-founder, Nick Baker on Twitter who says that he acquired it from an anonymous source.

While it’s a six-minute look at The Last of Us PS5 remake, we do actually get three clips of the game’s different locales. The first clip shows off Joel and Ellie getting into the game’s first bandit shootout with enemy NPCs following the ambush in Pittsburgh. After that, in a much shorter clip at the game’s multiple workbenches, the second clip shows Joel physically upgrading his hunting rifle’s capacity, scope, and reload speed which does change as players go through the motions. Finally, the last clip from another part of the game shows off more gun gameplay of Joel and Ellie trying to shoot their way out of a library. All three clips are attached to this article but should be noted that the clips look like they weren’t captured correctly so what you’re seeing might not represent the final product.

Baker also shared more screenshots but since the original posting has been deleted, according to VGC the tweets showed off the PS5 controller layout and the game’s two performance modes. The first mode is Fidelity mode which renders the game at 4K at an odd-ish target of 40 fps. The other one favours frame rate over resolution that targets 60 fps with a visually dynamic resolution. In addition, players can also play the game on TVs that supports variable refresh rate.

The Last of Us Part 1 is scheduled to launch exclusively on PS5 on September 2nd, 2022.
