The Last of Us has received 24 Emmy nominations today, a first for a video game adaptation, with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey receiving nods for their roles.
HBO’s adaptation of Naughty Dog’s series has been well-received since it began airing in January, rising in viewers with each subsequent episode before airing its season finale in March.
Today’s Emmy nominations include Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Pedro Pascal, and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Bella Ramsey.
Four guest stars, including Nick Offerman, Bill Bartlett, Keivonn Montreal Woodard, and Lamar Johnson, were nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. At the same time, Melanie Lynskey, Anna Torv, and Storm Reid saw nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
The series was also nominated for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Program, Outstanding Casting For A Drama Series, Outstanding Contemporary Costumes For A Series, and Best Writing For A Drama Series.
A current second season is under discussion, with Craig Mazin working on the next season at the moment. There is no current date listed for when viewers can expect to see The Last of Us Part 2 , but scouting is underway in BC as the second season will be bigger than ever.
