NIS America revealed The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster at PAX West 2026.
The hand-drawn game comes from the developers of The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince and The Cruel King and the Great Hero, and features a world dealing with a magical disease called Paper Mortis, which turns people into picture books and then into monsters.
The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster stars Mono, a young girl who has lost her sister to Paper Mortis. She heads out to save her sister from what is called an incurable disease and works with Mär, a monster looking for vengeance. Together, they traverse the Libratarium, where her sister is being held.
You’ll dive into various storybooks to learn the truth about the girls who are in them. Each features puzzles and bosses you’ll engage with as you search for clues to learn how to save Mono’s sister from her disease.
The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster is coming to Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC.
