The DioField Chronicle

The DioField Chronicle Announced

During today’s State of Play, Square Enix revealed a new series — The DioField Chronicle, a game in development from Lancarse Ltd. Together with character designs by Taiki (Lord of Vermilion III, IV), concept art by Isamu Kamikokuryo (Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy XIII) and orchestrated music by world-renowned composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell.

The announcement trailer today gave us our first look at story and combat, under the real-time system called ‘Real-Time Tactical Battle’. The DioField Chronicle uses a diorama style in battle and players can look at troops and assess conditions in real-time while issuing orders and skills among several classes.

Set in a world blending fantasy, medieval and modern sensibilities, the world is run by the Shaytham dynasty and the Kingdom of Alletain. DioField Island has seen peace for hundreds of years until one day they are thrust into a world of peril.

With the Kingdom of Alletain being rich in Jade, the mineral is used in magic and sorcery as an ingredient, drawing the eyes of some of the biggest players to the island. As the leader of an elite group of mercenaries called the Blue Fox, what will become of them?

The DioField Chronicle launches later this year.
