October’s looking to be another packed month as NIS America‘s confirmed The Caligula Effect 2 from developer FuRyu is launching on October 17, 2023, in North America, followed by October 20, 2023, in Europe for PlayStation 5.
A virtuadoll named Regret has seemingly created Red, a world where people can be saved from their past regrets by imprisoning them in a simulation. Unsurprisingly, things do not go well one day when a virtual idol named χ breaks into Regret’s virtual reality and restores one of its residents’ memories of the real world. To escape Redo, the resistance group, the Go-Home Club, is reestablished to fight Regret and the Obbligato Musicians.
The Caligula Effect 2 pulls elements from the Persona series as you recruit other students to help you stop Regret. Battles are turned-based, and you can use the Imaginary Chain to predict enemy movements and plan your strategy.
