The Borderlands Movie Heads For Reshoots

Remember there was a Borderlands film on the horizon? While it has been some time since we’ve heard anything regarding the Eli Roth flick, Deadline reports the video game adaptation is heading for reshoots.

However, it isn’t Roth who is returning to reshoot some of the Borderlands movie as he is heading to work on his next project – Thanksgiving – a horror film based on a mock trailer found in one of Quentin Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse films.

Tim Miller will instead pick up the director mantle and handle the reshoots as he spends a few weeks dealing with wrapping up the long-gestating project. Sources familiar with the situation say it is an amicable situation and all are happy with the way things are being handled.

Cate Blanchett’s Lilith will star as the character heads to Pandora where she attempts to locate the lost daughter of Atlas. Lilith will form a working relationship with Roland (Kevin Hart); Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt); Krieg (Florian Munteanu); Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis); and Claptrap (Jack Black).

I’ve been looking forward to finally seeing a trailer for the project and it seems the team working on Borderlands has respect for the source material. It’s a bit odd we’ve yet to see anything though, and the teasers have been few and far between.
