Shortly off the heels of the first season for the bat detective, Telltale is already back with Batman: The Enemy Within. The season will once again feature 5 episodes, beginning with ‘The Enigma’ launching on August 8th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Mac. Telltale was kind enough to release a trailer for the new season which you can view below.
In this latest chapter, both Bruce Wayne and Batman will be forced into precarious new roles. The Riddler has returned to terrorize Gotham City, but his gruesome puzzles merely foreshadow an even greater crisis. With the arrival of a ruthless federal agent and the return of a still nascent Joker, Batman must navigate uneasy alliances while Bruce Wayne undertakes a perilous series of deceptions. Which of Batman’s new allies will you choose to trust? And how deep into the darkness will you let Bruce descend.
Newcomers to the series need not to worry. They can jump right into season 2 without having to play through the first season. While players who have experienced the first season can carry over their choices into The Enemy Within. The Crowd Play feature is returning allowing friends and family to be engaged in the gameplay.
Troy Baker returns in the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman with Anthony Ingruber also returning to the series as ‘John Doe’, but fans may know him by another name.
The Enemy Within is a standalone Batman series not connected to the first season. The first episode, ‘The Enigma’, will be released on August 8th with a retail edition set to hit store shelves on October 3rd. The retail edition will contain the first episode on disc with the subsequent episodes being available for download once made available.
