Outright Games is working on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem video game that will serve as a sequel to the recently launched animated reboot. No specific release date was given, but it is expected to arrive in 2024 on consoles and PC.
According to a press release, the game takes place months after the film’s conclusion and features visuals inspired by the film’s painterly style. Further, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem includes “energetic ninja teamwork gameplay,” which I’m assuming is a co-op and is paired with a humourous narrative. Many familiar faces will make an appearance as you explore New York City.
There was no trailer revealed, but one image was posted, which can be seen above.
“Nickelodeon is one of our longest standing licensing collaborators and we’re overjoyed to have the opportunity to bring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to life in a brand new and original video game,” said Outright Games CEO Stephanie Malham in a press release. “This is one of the most enduring and beloved franchises in the world and we’re beyond excited to use our expertise to expand the Turtles’ global reach even further through the world of video games.”
“It’s exciting to launch our first console game set in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem universe, especially as the franchise only continues to grow. The vibrancy of this new film’s animation lends itself perfectly to video games, and we can’t wait for everyone to play it,” said Doug Rosen, SVP of Games & Emerging Media at Paramount.
