Techland, the developer on Dying Light 2 Stay Human, has a new project in the works and today, we’re getting our first look.
The unnamed RPG project is in development, with Techland calling its project an “AAA open-world action-RPG in a fantasy setting.” While we don’t have much to go on with the exception of one piece of concept art, the image features dilapidated temples, luscious green spaces, and gorgeous waterfalls.
“We’re very happy with what we have accomplished with the Dying Light franchise so far,” said Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka in a press release. “Moreover, our journey with Dying Light 2 Stay Human has only just begun as we plan to support this game for at least five years, with its scope and size matching, if not exceeding, what we have provided our community with during post-launch support for its predecessor.”
Former CD Projekt RED employees have been enlisted to work on this project, including Karolina Stachyra, writer on The Witcher 3, Arkadiusz Borowik, a narrative lead on The Witcher 3, Bartosz Ochamn, open-world director on Cyberpunk 2077, Kevin Quaid, animator on Horizon Zero Dawn, David McClure game designer on Deathloop, Mario Maltezos, creative director on Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and more.
“We want to create a fully next-gen experience. A new fantasy epic set in a sprawling open world, fueled by the skills and experience we have gained as a team over the years, infused with new ideas, passion, and creativity. While we cannot share more details about this project now, we’re all truly invested in it and looking forward to showing it to gamers when the time is right.”
