I’ve seen similar threads on NeoGAF, RedFlagDeals, and now Reddit – Target is canceling pre-orders on the SNES Classic for Canadians who tried to order it through their online store.
Today, numerous users have reported that Target has canceled their orders due to having to pass through customs. A surprise to many who decided to choose Target as the company they purchased the SNES Classic through uses BorderFree, a service that allows international customers to purchase items from US retailers that don’t have stores in their home countries.
While this is rather disappointing to those who are trying to get the SNES Classic, a system that looks like it will not be able to meet the current demand, it’s not something I didn’t expect either, as Nintendo has been famous for dropping the ball.
On another note, the SNES Classic is skipping being sold in Quebec due to language restrictions. At any rate, finding a SNES Classic here in Canada will be unnecessarily harder than it needs to be.
Thanks, Nintendo!
