Tales of Symphonia Remastered

Tales of Symphonia Remastered’s Trailer Puts Focus On Gameplay

Tales of Symphonia Remastered is out next month and while it might not be the remaster or port players expect, it still is nice seeing one of the more popular entries get the spotlight. Bandai Namco has a new trailer focusing on the gameplay and what returning and new players can expect.

One of the biggest discrepancies the Tales of Symphonia Remaster don’t mention is the lack of 60 FPS. The original on GameCube launched with a high framerate and it made a world of change – so much so that even 20 years later, fans are still asking for it. Instead, a more consistent 30 FPS is coming and I’m sure it’ll be an adjustment, but it’s the consistency I care more about.

The trailer for Tales of Symphonia Remastered is brief, giving us a look at the Tech skills you’ll be able to utilize in battle. We also get a brief look at the ‘Optimal’ option Bandai Namco added, essentially equipping your team with the best equipment options available.

I’m not entirely sure this is a great port yet, given how little has been added. I’d love Bandai Namco to consider porting Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Graces f, and Tales of Destiny Director’s Cut next before anything else.

Tales of Symphonia Remastered is available on February 17, 2023, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
