An award-winning, cute, friendly, and all-around fun time is headed to Tilt Five‘s AR platform.
Takenoko from Antoine Bauza has been added to the growing augmented reality lineup.
The Tilt Five version reimagines the gardens of imperial Japan where players can cultivate holographic bamboo and interact with the beloved characters–including a very hungry panda. Players will see garden plots rising and falling on the table, water flowing from the pond, and the weather rumbling and raining directly in front of their very eyes.
I personally had some time with Takenoko a few years back, it was a blast! This time around, the board game goes digital and will allow players to experience a world in 3D space with friends and family. You’ll even be able to play it online with other Tilt Five players.
In 2012, Takenoko won Golden Geek’s Best Board Game Artwork award and it’s easy to see how the colourful world, pieces, and characters can be brought to life on your table in AR.
We spoke to Tilt Five on our Creature Cast podcast last month and are really looking forward to what’s to come with this unique system. The Tilt Five is taking it’s approach to AR board games with its new holographic display and wand-like motion controllers for each player.
Takenoko can be added to your wishlist now on Steam and is expected to be released within the next month. A Tilt Five can be ordered here.
