Metalhead Software has another inning for a home run as the developer revealed Super Mega Baseball 3 is set to launch next month and will also support cross-play.
With each iteration of Super Mega Baseball, the series continues to expand and build upon an excellent foundation. I spent dozens of hours with the first game, playing a full 9 inning game with my friends and generally having a blast hitting home runs and grand slams.
Super Mega Baseball 3 will have the deepest on-field simulation yet, comprehensive online and offline game modes including a brand new “Franchise” mode, and vastly refined graphics. In addition, Super Mega Baseball 3 offers a revamped user interface plus tons of new audio, team/character content, and stadiums with variable lighting conditions.
There will also be a free demo and trial version that allows users to play an unlimited number of games in the competitive online Pennant Race mode, promoting short matchmaking times and an active online user base.
New mechanics include pick-off and base stealing mechanics, wild pitches/passed balls, designated hitters and situational player traits.
Super Mega Baseball 3 launches next month on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
