That was quite a presentation today! Starting things off, Nintendo revealed that Super Mario Maker 2 is real and it’s coming in only four months! That’s right, expect a launch sometime in June.
Nintendo is finally releasing a sequel to the hit Wii U title, Super Mario Maker on the Nintendo Switch. Judging from the trailer, assets from Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 3D Land. Eventually, the Nintendo 3DS featured a port of the original Wii U hit game as well.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get a long look at many of the tools included. What we did see was a few ways levels are edited but that’s about all for this reveal. From what we see, Luigi is joining Mario, together building levels that will make or break the best of Mario players. The original game saw a ton of unique, player levels and some of the toughest levels as well. Nintendo even featured several pre-made levels in the original but it’s the user content that thrived.
Hopefully, Nintendo decides to showcase more before launching later this year.
Super Mario Maker 2 is out in June for the Nintendo Switch.
