Unknown Worlds Entertainment will publish Subnautica 2 into Early Access beginning on May 14.
“We’re excited for players to experience Subnautica 2, beginning May 14th!” said Ted Gill, CEO of Unknown Worlds. “Our team cannot wait to hear your feedback as the game evolves throughout Early Access.”
Subnautica 2 is set on a new alien world and is a single-player game with an optional online co-op multiplayer mode with up to three friends.
With your home struck by conflict, Alterra offers you a chance to experience life on a new planet. Aboard the colony ship Cicada, you and other Pioneers end up stranded and must survive.
You’ll explore the depths of a new world and use all the tools available to you. You explore biomes with the Tadpole submersibles, design bases to return to after adventures, and more. The game is in early access on Steam, so tools, equipment, and vehicles will develop as the game does.
Subnautica 2 launches in Early Access on PC and Xbox Series on May 14, 2026.
