Dotemu dropped a new trailer today for upcoming brawler Streets of Rage 4. The game is currently in development from Lizardcube and features protagonists Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding doing what they do best- kicking ass but not taking names.
What really sticks is is the art direction, which is thanks to Dotemu, who previously worked on Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake in 2017. Having used their knowledge from that title, Streets of Rage 4 uses the same hand-drawn art style and it looks fantastic in motion.
Seeing a new Streets of Rage title is exciting itself as it’s been more than two decades since the last game in the series. Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games are all working together to bring an exciting new chapter for the series. I can’t remember the last brawler I played similar to this, but it’s nice to see a familiar genre return and look really good, too!
