Strange Scaffold, the developer behind An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs and Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator, is working on a new project called Teenage Demon Slayer Society.
Described as a “stylish action/strategy game,” Teenage Demon Slayer Society stars Johnny Weston, where you’ll engage with style ranks, customizable move sets, and endearing characters. Set in the 1980s, a shady deal by the US government led to demons flooding the small city of Fall Rapids. It’s up to the local teens of this town to help stop the hordes of demons flooding the streets.
“It’s 2023, and I’m tired,” says creative director Xalavier Nelson Jr. with a thousand yard-stare into a nearby coffee mug. “Every time I try and play a new strategy game, there’s a good hour or more of tutorials I have to go through first. I’m excited to make a tactics game that finally welcomes you to just smash some stuff as soon as you open it. Then you get to save the world! All to pumping lo-fi beats, of course.”
The idea behind Teenage Demon Society is that there are fewer stats and complicated interactions to worry about. There will be playable teens to choose from with their own unique set of moves, where you’ll aim to get S-ranks, discover the secrets of Shadow Jersey, and more.
Teenage Demon Slayer Society is coming to PC in 2024.
