Recently, Sony has been cleaning up the PlayStation Store, as shovelware games have been noticeably disappearing from the platform and now Ukrainian developer Ternox Games is next up on the chopping block as the studio announced in a Twitter post that Sony has “unilaterally terminated” its publishing agreement with PlayStation resulting in 14 titles it has published to be delisted on August 23 and also means the developer can’t self publish its own game Stonks-9800: Stock Market Simulator will no longer release on PS5, as first reported by Automation.
Ternox adds that the move came without a warning and “PlayStation Support refuses to listen to my arguments or even respond to my emails in any way.” Before the move, Ternox Games was aiming to release Stonks-9800: Stock Market Simulator on PS5 with a physical release before that option is no longer feasible after January 2028.
With that no longer an option, they say they will try their best to “create a physical edition for PC and Nintendo Switch.” Stonks-9800: Stock Market Simulator is no shovelware game by any stretch and has been in early access on Steam since 2023 gaining an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Valve’s platform with over 3,000 reviews. Alongside PC and Nintendo Switch, Stonks-9800: Stock Market Simulator is also coming to Xbox.
It remains to be seen if an actual real person at Sony made this decision and is also making an effort to ghost the developer, as Sony is going more all in on AI on the development side with its first party studios and the tech could be just automating flagging the titles that Ternox Games has put out. The games set to be impacted includes Boned Again: Survivors, Bullet Beat, Dungeonloop, Finger Fitness, Fox’s Zen House, IN-VERT, Nexoria: Dungeon Rogue Heroes, O-VOID: Console Edition, Retro Highway, Run & Jump Guy, Scrap Divers, Taimumari: Complete Edition, and Unichrome: A 1-Bit Unicorn Adventure.
